One of the first trees to show autumn around here is the ash (fresno, in spanish) and we have quite a lot of ashes in my neighborhood. My parents planted two of them, ages ago, to protect our house from the heat in summer. Their leaves started turning yellow early in March and the view is so amazing... by mid April they will be totally golden. I could spend the whole season taking pictures of them...
I'm glad coldness is heading southbound so you can have your beloved autumn and I get to join spring! :p
